Strategic Adaptive Plan Highlights (2023-2028)

Our vision to establish EAST as the leading Pentecostal University in East Africa inspired the creation of our Five-Year (2023-2028) Strategic Adaptive Plan developed by a diverse group of key University stakeholders. 

We are happy to share our Fall Semester 2024 Partner Update highlighting EAST’s operational progress as it relates to our eight strategic goals outlined in our comprehensive five-year Strategic Adaptive Plan viewable here.

    Our Five-Year Strategic Adaptive Plan guides our transformation, ensuring measurable progress across eight key goals. Here’s how we’re shaping the future:

    Academic Excellence

    • Undergraduate Programs: Offering certificates, diplomas, and bachelor’s degrees across two schools: Bible and Theology, and Education and Social Sciences.
    • Graduate Programs: Partnering with Southeastern University (SEU) to launch a Master’s in Global Ministry Design by 2025.
    • Innovative Learning Pathways
      • Continuing Education: Collaborations with 34 African denominations to accredit children and youth ministry training.
      • Short Courses: Launching in January 2025 to provide flexible learning opportunities.
      • University Launchpad: Piloting online programs for Kenyan teens, fostering spiritual, academic, and practical skills.

    Campus and Community Growth

    Leadership Academy: Engaged 78 students this semester, contributing over 960 hours of service.

    Campus Enhancements:

    • New student kitchen and prayer rooms.
    • Sanatoriums for student wellness.
    • Environmental sustainability through waste management initiatives.

      Student Engagement

      • 70% student participation in events, mentorship programs, and sports.
      • Partnerships with initiatives like the “This Girl” Program for female empowerment.

      Financial Stability and Growth

      Debt Reduction: Achieved significant savings through negotiations and strategic planning.

      Farming Revenue: Leveraging land for agricultural projects to generate income and develop infrastructure.

      Recruitment and Enrollment

      • Enrollment Growth: Welcomed 121 new students, marking a 50% increase from last year.
      • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with educational and ministry organizations across Africa and beyond.

      We anticipate recruiting an additional 200 new students by September 2025, bringing our total active enrollment to 592 students (101 will be graduating).

      • Universities and Churches in Europe and North America: A growing network of partners invests in EAST’s transformation through financial support, mentorship, and resources.
      • Calvary Church, Naperville, IL: Their leadership lauds EAST as a model for revitalization and growth in Christian higher education.
        • Highlands College, Birmingham, AL: Actively supporting EAST’s academic and leadership initiatives.
        • Chi Alpha at the University of Hawaii: Partnering to sponsor mission teams, fostering cross-cultural exchange and evangelism.

        Programs and Opportunities

        • Study Abroad Kenya (Launching Fall 2025): Partnering with Southeastern University (SEU) to offer U.S. students immersive experiences in African culture, ministry, and education.
        • Mission Teams and Evangelism: International mission teams join us in developing the local church, supporting outreach programs, and advancing the Gospel.
