The threat of terrorism is present in many countries in Africa, with the Church often being the first target. According to our ABY research, African youth often struggle with negative views of leadership and self-esteem issues. Through the Lumiere Project, over 3,300 churches are currently being planted in 11 African countries to continue to bring light to the region.

Ishimwe’s Story
Ishimwe’s father abandoned the family. His mother struggled to provide for herself and her son. In Ishmwe’s pain, he skipped school and was disrespectful to his mom. A local church organized sports and games to coincide with a OneHope bible club. Ishimwe joined for the opportunity to play sports, but soon learned Jesus was a much greater gift. He accepted Christ and attends school regularly now!
