Kayra lives in a majority-Buddhist nation but was born into a Christian family where faith was familiar yet distant. 

When her parents moved for work, she was left with her ill grandmother. At 15, Kayra carried adult responsibilities — such as managing the home and finances — while quietly aching for someone to care for her. Even at church, she didn’t know Jesus as friend or Savior. 

But you reached out to her through Friend-to-Friend Champions, a program that equips Christian young people to reach out to their friends. She attended and says: 

“I was finally able to understand the true meaning of a best friend — it’s Jesus!”

She committed her life to Christ and continues attending Friend-to-Friend meetings, which have empowered her to reach two other girls, Rashmi and Tamari, who want to know more about Jesus, too. 

“I’m thankful to Jesus for revealing the truth to me,” Kayra says. “And thankful to my friend who invited me to Friend-to-Friend Champions.”

Kayra says her life “now shines with God’s blessing.”
